Every pair of VINNY's is made in small factories where shoemaking tends to run in the family.
The people there cut, stitch, last, and finish each pair by hand. Many of them have been doing it for decades. We design in Copenhagen and work with them side by side, sample after sample, until a shoe is right. Then we make only what’s needed.
It's slower. It's also the only way we know how to make a shoe you'll still be wearing years from now.
Hands first.
Most of the people making our shoes have spent decades at the bench. They notice what no tech pack ever covers: a stitch a millimeter off, a panel that doesn’t sit quite right.
There are machines on the floor. Old ones, mostly. But it's hands that guide every pair through them, and eyes that decide when it's done.

We work mostly with small, family-owned factories, where tradition, pride and personal care still set the standard. The owner's name is on the door, and usually somewhere on the floor too.

Leather, linings, thread, soles. Every material is chosen for quality, durability and comfort, and tested against our standards before it becomes part of a VINNY's shoe. If it doesn't pass, it doesn't go in.
All our factories are certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG), the independent standard for responsible leather sourcing and environmental performance.

A shoe isn't designed once. It's drawn on paper, then onto the last, sampled in Portugal, tried on, marked up in pen and sent back. Then again.
Our team and the factories work through every round together, until the pair is right. Not nearly right.

Every pair is made in Portugal, mostly in small, family-owned factories. We design in Copenhagen and work closely with the factories through every sample round, from first sketch to final pair.
It depends on the style and how it's meant to be worn. Classic leather soles where it should feel refined. Vibram and other high-performance soles where grip and mileage matter more. Each one is chosen for comfort, grip and longevity, so the shoe works from the meeting to the wet pavement home.
A little, like most good leather shoes. That's how the leather ends up shaped to you. We work to make that part easier: most styles have a memory-foam insole that moulds to your foot, and every design is tried on and adjusted through each sample round until the fit is right. Give them a few wears and they become yours.
Every material is selected for quality, durability and comfort. Leather, linings, thread and soles are all tested against our standards before they become part of a VINNY's shoe. If something doesn't pass, it doesn't go in.
The Leather Working Group (LWG) is an independent organisation that audits leather production for responsible sourcing and environmental performance. All the factories we work with are LWG-certified.
